A stainless steel valve is a valve, mainly made of stainless steel, which regulates the flow of a fluid, corrosive or noncorrosive (fluidized solids, slurries, gases, liquids,) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. It is a pipeline fluid distribution system control unit, is used to change the channel cross-section and media flow direction for fluid guidance, regulating, cut-off, throttling, stopping and depressurization through diversion or excess flow.

There are many kinds of fluid control valves with various specifications, such as cut-off valves with simplest structure and valves with highly complex automatic control system, minute gauge valves and valves with 10m nominal diameter for industrial pipes.

The types of stainless steel used for valve body are typically appear with CF8, CF3, CF8M and CF3M(or their relevant forge material 304, 316, 304l,316l) these austenitic stainless steel and other special stainless steel include Duplex, Moniel, Inconel and so on.

Its application medium: water, steam, oil, gas, mud, all kinds of corrosive media, liquid metal and radioactive fluid , micro-alkyl, methane, ethane, fresh, ethane, …liquid heavy component ,hydrogenated liquid and so on;
Its Working temperature:-269℃~1430℃;
Its working pressure: 0.0013Mpa~1000Mpa;
It can be operated by many means: such as manual, worm gear, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, electro-magnetic action, electric-hydraulic, pneumatic-hydraulic, electro-magnetic-hydraulic, spur-gears-drive and umbrella-gear-drive etc. It can react to pressure, temperature or other as required or start or stop without instruction of those sensing signals. Besides, the valve relies on drivers or automatic parts to enable gate parts lifting, sliding, rotating pendulum, rotation, thereby changes the area of the flow channel.

Due to stainless steel have good performance in temperature-dependent yield strength, usually stainless steel valve can have more thin thickness compare with other carbon steel valve  like API600 or API6D.
