Slip on welding flanges are probably most commen type of forged flange. They are sliped over the pipe and welded (both inside and outside usually). Slip on flanges are at the low cost, usually used for low pressure condition. High pressure and high temeprature is allowed, but not advised. SO flange doesn’t requied high accurancy when cutting the pipe to length.
