Technical Requirements for Boiler Forging Valves 

1. Forging raw material should be accompanied by quality certificates (also known as quality assurance certificates). Supplementary inspection should be carried out when there is no quality assurance certificate. Only those who are qualified can be put into production.

2. Forging pieces (referring to raw materials for forging) may be rolled (e.g. round steel) or ingots. If the forged blank is rolled, its surface quality and chemical properties will be improved.

Power plant ball valve Construction -standard production

Now there are some power plant  ball valve manufacturers are machining ball valve bodies from forged bar stock materials with massive wall thicknesses far exceeding that of rising stem valves. Some adopt the same ball valve body design on 1.5-inch and smaller sizes for all pressures classes—so that an ASME Class 1500 valve may actually have an ASME Class 4500 body. Usually Class150 300 600 800lb will have same body for SW/NPT connection valve, 900lb 1500lb will be one class.

API high pressure and high temperature power plant gate valve

The power plant valve usually should be high pressure and high temperature with medium water, steam, air. So material WCB, WC6, WC9 are widedly usded as main body material. The valve are designed with pressure seal bonnet for class 600 900, 1500, 2500 depends on size and working condition. The valve are usually with butt weld ends connection to avoid any leakage.Hard face sealing surface are often adopted.
