We all know that there are three major factors that affect valve life:

1 valve inner leakage: The main problem is the quality of the sealing surface
2 valve outside leakage: The main problem is the quality of the casting, but also packing problem
3 valve structure: The main problems in the design and processing of pieces

When design valve, selcect valve type, purchase valve, we need to know valve classfication first.

The first category
Automatic valve: to rely on the media (liquid, gas) own abilities and self-action of the valve. Such as check valves, safety valves, control valves, steam traps, valves, etc.

The second category

Aker Solutions wins Heidrun platform equipment frame agreement

Aker Solutions has won a frame agreement from Statoil to supply, refurbish and store compensation equipment used to stabilise and control production risers on the Heidrun platform in the North Sea. The contract value is undisclosed.

Production risers are vertical pipelines between the seabed and a floating production facility. They are used to transport produced hydrocarbons, as well as production materials, such as injection fluids, control fluids and gas lift. Usually many Distributor/Importer or Wholesaler of industrial valve, especially from third world country, they eveluate valve by several factor.1. price is most important  2. quality 3. after sales 4.delivery time  5. service 6. payment method… Other factors might change their rank, but price is most important for them.

Howover, we’d like to say Valve price doesn’t mean everything.  See below pic, we see this surprising pic in one factory when we visit their neighbour local recently.
